Scott Sydelnik is a Partner at Davidson Fink LLP in the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Practice Group, focusing his practice on in the areas of real estate development and mortgage lending. He has represented buyers, sellers, and lenders in residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout New York State. Mr. Sydelnik has also represented debtors and creditors in the Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western and Districts of the United States Bankruptcy Court.

Mr. Sydelnik is additionally the Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee of the Real Property Law Section (RPLS) of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) where he advises on the direction of CLE’s pertaining to real property law on a State wide basis. Mr. Sydelnik is also a frequent lecturer for the Monroe County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association on a wide range of real estate and bankruptcy topics, including residential real estate, mortgage foreclosure and workouts, and landlord tenant matters.

Mr. Sydelnik also takes an active role in charitable work in the Rochester Community with the American Cancer Society, serving as the current Chair and former Vice Chair of the Board of Advisors for the Rochester region and a member of the Upstate New York Board of Advisors. Mr. Sydelnik is also a regular volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, having participated in several build days.

In 2020, Mr. Sydelnik was honored to receive the President’s Hammer Award, awarded to dedicated volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. For advancing the mission of Flower City Habitat for Humanity through organizational development.

Sometimes the tool to build our mission is a hammer on the construction site, sometimes it’s improving a policy, structure, or process to help us all build more efficiently. President’s “Hammer Award” goes to a volunteer who advances our mission and vision while exemplifying the values of partnership, quality, and integrity.
