Davidson Fink has a rich history of giving back to the community. The firm’s Rochester office employs over 100 people—the attorneys and staff proudly support local, regional, and national charities by serving on boards, sponsoring organizations and events, and have an employee-managed charitable giving program for the firm’s employees.

In recent years, it has become common for professional service companies like law firms to allow a more casual dress code, especially on Fridays. At Davidson Fink LLP, employees are permitted to “dress down” on the third Friday of every month – provided they contribute at least $3.00 to do so. If that sounds like a steep price to pay for a day without ironing and heels, you’d be surprised to hear that many employees pay much more – even up to $300!

Although it is true that Davidson Fink’s employees REALLY love wearing jeans to work, the real reason behind their deep pockets is that it’s all for a good cause. The money “paid” by the employees each Dress Down Day is actually a charitable donation. And whatever the employees raise, the firm matches dollar for dollar, doubling the contribution. Proceeds from Dress Down Day are donated to a different charity each month, with employees making suggestions of worthy non-profits to support. Many charities are chosen by employees based on personal experiences with an organization that has helped them or their families.

“Davidson Fink is proud to support so many worthy organizations with our team Dress Down Day program” says the firm’s Managing Partner, Rob Galbraith. “Giving back to our community is very important to the people in our firm. Every year as the firm continues to grow, we are able to increase our contributions to the community”. Val Drier, a longtime employee of the firm, and Webster resident has managed the firm’s internal donation program for years. Val states, “It has been wonderful to see how generous our attorneys and staff are. And by allowing employees to choose which charities or groups are important to them, it makes the program that much more meaningful”. Don White, an attorney in both the Family Law and Personal Injury departments states, “The firm does a great deal in terms of donating time and money regionally and nationally, but for me it is important to spend time in Webster, where I reside. I have been involved in Webster town government for many years. I like to see that I am making a difference in my own community as well”.

The Dress Down Day tradition has been going on at Davidson Fink for the past twelve years, promoting a generous and thriving culture of giving within the organization. Attorneys and staff regularly donate their time and money to numerous local and national charities. Some of the organizations include:
