Default Department Attorney
Locations: Rochester
Job Description:
- Consult with clients on legal best practices
- Review, prepare, draft pleadings, motions, memoranda etc.
- Review pleadings and determine the best course of action
- Research legal issues; new rules, regulations, and laws; and remain current on case law in the area of practice
- Adhere to a consistent schedule of hearings, court appearances, and case-related conferences
- Work with and supervise staff
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in one or any of the following areas strongly preferred; bankruptcy, evictions, default litigation
- Skills of persuasion and negotiation
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strong computer skills and competency
- Professional attitude and strong personal ethics
- Flexible, willingness to learn new skills as needs arise
- Be proactive, engaging and have moxie
- Desire to work in a flexible, team-centric environment where your voice is heard and respected
Compensation: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year.
